Scales 101 In the early days of our souvenir building production, scale was never considered. When we started using our present technology to make models, multiple scales became a natural addition to our product line. The scale number is the amount of feet per inch from the ground level to the roof / spire tip. The base is not included in this measurement. A 1500' building in 150' scale would be 10 inches tall. Also a 1000' building in 100' scale would be 10 inches tall. Below three scales are demonstrated side by side. The largest model is 75 feet per inch and 5 inches tall including base, the middle is 100 feet per inch and 3-3/4 inches tall, the smallest is 150 feet per inch and 2-5/8 inches tall. The smaller the scale number the more detailed the model. Due to the great height of today's skyscrapers, scales of 75' and even 100' are not practical for metal replica casting. Buildings over 800 feet tall are normally offered exclusively in the 150' scale. If you are building a scale skyline the 150 scale is recommended. If you are collecting individual pieces of architecture the smaller scale numbers (100' or less) are for you.
